"Civil Money Penalties: The Year in Review & Strategies for Avoidance"

Tuesday December 7th from 10:30am to 11:30 am

CSIA is excited to announce our December webinar titled "Civil Money Penalties: The Year in Review & Strategies for Avoidance".  We will be hearing from industry expert Frank Fairchok, VP of Medicare Reporting Services at MEDVAL.

As the Medicare Secondary Payer landscape continues to evolve, it is more important than ever to stay up-to-date on topics that could impact an organization’s compliance. Failure to do so could put primary payers in jeopardy of financial penalties, or place them at risk for being the target of litigation. This session will dive into two areas of change around the Mandatory Insurer Reporting requirements of the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 to help primary payers maximize their compliance and reduce risk. In this session we will review the movement CMS has been making towards imposing Civil Money Penalties around Section 111 reporting. Then, we will examine the implementation of the PAID Act and discuss potential best practices to use this new data.

Please join us as Frank Fairchok provides a thorough overview of these two topics. Mr. Fairchok has been a recognized subject matter expert and speaker, and has over 12 years of helping clients define their strategy in this area.

Frank is passionate about his job!  Someone once described what he does as "complex and boring," but he loves working in the Medicare Secondary Payer space and being able to help organizations navigate the complexity of this area of compliance. Medicare Secondary Payer has evolved extensively over the last thirteen years and will continue to do so as we see CMS tie together the differing areas of Section 111 reporting, conditional payments and Medicare Set Asides. This evolution has brought the data of the Section 111 processes to the center of attention, and the accuracy of this data will be seen in recovery efforts and the ever looming Civil Money Penalties rulemaking.

The webinar is free to CSIA members and available for $25 to non-members.  You can register here.

Please be advised that the event link is sent separately and if you register the day of the event you must contact Jill Dulich to obtain the link.
